Due to the new strategy and growth of Ahlers, we are looking for a P&M Logistics Projects Coordinator, located in Saint Petersburg and reporting to Business Unit Director, to join the Business Unit Projects & Machinery.


In this challenging job you are responsible for the coordination and operational follow up of the project cargo shipments within the Ahlers network (Europe, Russia & CIS, Asia).

P&M Logistics Projects Coordinator is in charge of logistics project management and coordination within the region during the whole project life time. Additionally, you assist the project team with the creation of logistics solutions and commercial offers. You shift easily between both functions depending on the needs within the team and depending on the running projects and tenders.

Job description:

  • You coordinate door-to-door shipments of the project-, machinery- and breakbulk cargo.
  • You create the operational file in specifically developed IT system and ensure A to Z execution at a high quality and follow up.
  • You coordinate mostly multimodal and cross trade shipments with your colleagues, agents and suppliers worldwide.
  • You keep a clear overview of various transports within a certain project and maintain a customer-oriented communication and optimal project reporting.
  • You efficiently deal with the customers and find solutions to possible customer complaints.
  • You assist the project team with the follow up of customer RFQ’s and tenders.
  • You send out rate requests to our suppliers (transport companies, shipping lines, terminals, agents, etc) and negotiate the price and conditions where needed. You find the best solution communicating with suppliers.
  • You work out commercial offers and define the right price, terms and conditions consulting the project team or sales manager. Together with the P&M team present proposal to the customer (optional).


Job profile:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in logistics or similar experience.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role as freight forwarder.
  • You are experienced in project logistics.
  • Your level of English is Upper-Intermediate or higher.
  • You are familiar with MS Office packages. You have basic knowledge of foreign economic activity, Russian customs legislation, INCOTERMS 2010.
  • You are aware of Russian main regulatory acts governing transport and forwarding activities in the transport of oversized and heavy goods by various types of transport.
  • You have a good geographical knowledge.
  • You work independently, accurately and result oriented.
  • You are flexible and capable to deal with deadlines and stress.
  • You are a team player with an open and transparent communication style.
  • You have excellent communicative skills, interpersonal, and organizational skill, with a strong phone presence.
  • You have advanced analytical skills.
  • You are eager to have happy client. You succeed when they succeed.
